Position Overview

The Montessori Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring our Montessori program maintains its high standards of quality and integrity. Working closely with the school director, teachers, and parents, the Montessori Coordinator will provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure that our learning environment aligns with Montessori principles and nurtures a safe, stimulating experience for each child. This role involves teacher mentorship, curriculum oversight, and fostering a collaborative community within Nebula Montessori.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Oversight: Monitor and support the implementation of the Montessori curriculum, ensuring adherence to Montessori philosophy and best practices.

  • Teacher Support & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers, helping them set goals, develop lesson plans, and manage classrooms effectively. Conduct regular observations to offer constructive feedback and professional development.

  • Parent Engagement: Facilitate clear and open communication between the school and parents, organizing parent meetings, information sessions, and workshops to foster understanding and involvement in Montessori practices.

  • Professional Development: Organize and lead training workshops for staff on Montessori methods, classroom management, and child development. Identify and coordinate external development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a calm, organized, and child-centered environment across classrooms, ensuring they are well-prepared and meet Montessori standards.

  • Student Assessment & Record-Keeping: Oversee student progress tracking and reporting systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and communication of each child’s growth and learning milestones.

  • Enrollment & Admissions Support: Support the admissions process by participating in tours, assisting with inquiries, and providing information about Montessori education to prospective families.

  • Operational Support: Assist in day-to-day school administration, ensuring all materials and resources are available and that policies and procedures are being followed consistently.

  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute school events, including open houses, parent workshops, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings, to foster a strong school community.

Qualifications
  • Montessori Certification: AMI or AMS certification in Montessori education is required.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree in Education or similar field is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a Montessori environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with experience in mentoring and training teachers.

  • Administrative Skills: Proficiency in basic office software, record-keeping, and familiarity with administrative functions in an educational setting.

Preferred Skills
  • A deep understanding of child development and Montessori pedagogy.

  • Experience in creating a collaborative and supportive work culture.

  • Knowledge of school operations, including admissions, budgeting, and scheduling.

  • Familiarity with handling conflict resolution among staff, students, and parents effectively.
