Position Overview
We are seeking a nurturing, patient, and experienced Montessori Preschool Teacher to guide young minds aged 2-6 in their formative years. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and teaching methods and a commitment to fostering a safe and encouraging environment that supports each child’s individual development. As a Montessori Preschool Teacher, you will work closely with children, parents, and other staff to create a positive learning experience that aligns with Nebula Montessori’s values.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Execution: Develop, plan, and implement a curriculum based on Montessori principles, tailoring activities and lessons to meet each child’s developmental needs.
Learning Environment: Prepare and maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom that supports Montessori principles, encouraging exploration, independence, and creativity.
Observation & Assessment: Regularly observe and assess each child’s development, keeping detailed records of progress, and adjusting lessons or interventions as needed.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents, offering insights into their child’s progress, development, and achievements. Conduct scheduled parent-teacher conferences and provide support to help parents reinforce learning at home.
Classroom Management: Promote a peaceful and respectful classroom environment that teaches children to solve conflicts independently, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff and administrators to ensure a cohesive, supportive teaching environment. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
Professional Development: Stay updated on Montessori practices and early childhood education trends, and actively pursue opportunities for ongoing training and certification.
Qualifications
Montessori Certification: Diploma from an accredited Montessori teacher training program (AMI or AMS preferred).
Early Childhood Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a Montessori setting, preferably with preschool-aged children.
First Aid & CPR Certification: Current certification in pediatric first aid and CPR is preferred or must be obtained upon hiring.
Skills & Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, patience, adaptability, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with classroom technology, digital communication tools, and record-keeping software.
Basic understanding of child psychology and developmental milestones.
Experience working with parents to extend Montessori learning at home.
Knowledge of multilingual/multicultural education practices is an advantage.
